Free walk-a-thon flyer templates for schools and PTAs

A good walk-a-thon flyer tells a busy family three things: what the event is, why it matters, and what to do next. The generator above builds all four materials from the same details, so the date, goal and message match everywhere. It works for an elementary school, a PTA or PTO walk, a church walk or a team fundraiser.

What should a walk-a-thon flyer include?

The essential event details

  • Host: the school or organization running it.
  • Event name: use “Walk-a-Thon” prominently so the format is clear.
  • Date, time and location: add a rain date or weather-plan link where it applies.
  • Who takes part: students, families, members or team supporters.

The fundraising message

  • Purpose: what the money will pay for, such as playground equipment or classroom supplies.
  • Goal: a target, if your committee has approved one.
  • Next step: collect pledges, donate through your existing page, or simply show up.
  • Contact or link: somewhere to go with questions.

Make the next step unmistakable

“Support our school” is a sentiment, not an instruction. Try “Ask three friends or relatives to sponsor your walk” or “Visit our event page to see how to take part.” Walk-A-Thon.com does not accept or process donations.

Four printable walk-a-thon promotional materials you can create

1. Printable flyer

For bulletin boards, the front office, backpacks and local businesses. Lead with the event name, date, purpose and one clear action; it should work for someone who glances at it for five seconds.

2. Take-home family letter

For family folders, newsletters and school email. It gives parents the context to help their child take part: the goal, how pledges work, the date and who to ask. For longer donation asks and reminders, use the letter and message templates.

3. Sponsor appreciation sign

For the entrance, water stations and finish line. By default it thanks sponsors in general. Add names only once each sponsor has agreed to be recognized; the sponsorship guide covers recognition levels.

4. Social media graphic

A square graphic for PTA pages, parent groups and reminders. Download the SVG to keep text crisp at any size, and pair it with a short caption. Don't post students' names or photos without permission.

How to print and share your walk-a-thon flyer

Print a flyer or family letter

  1. Enter your event details and choose Flyer or Take-home letter.
  2. Select Print / Save PDF, then pick your printer or “Save as PDF.”
  3. Turn on background graphics so the colors print.
  4. Print one test copy before running hundreds.

Share a digital graphic

  1. Choose Social graphic and check that the date and name fit.
  2. Select Download social graphic (SVG).
  3. Post it with a caption and your event link, converting to PNG in your usual tools if a platform needs it.

A five-minute check before you distribute

Ask someone who didn't plan the event to read it. Can they find the date, place, cause and next step right away? Is the school name spelled correctly and the link accurate? Is it readable on a phone?

Frequently asked questions

Is this walk-a-thon flyer generator free?

Yes. It's free and needs no account. Enter your event details, choose a format, then print, save as PDF or download.

Can I use it for a PTA, PTO, church or sports team fundraiser?

Yes. The organization name, event name, goal, purpose and participation instructions are all editable, so the four formats work for schools, parent groups, churches, teams and community organizations.

Can I make a printable walkathon flyer without design software?

Yes. Choose Print / Save PDF and your browser produces the printable file. Nothing to install.

What is the difference between a walk-a-thon flyer and a donation request letter?

A flyer is a short announcement meant to be understood at a glance. A donation request letter explains the cause and makes a personal ask. For full letters, use the walk-a-thon letter templates.

Should the flyer include a fundraising goal?

Include one if your committee has set and approved it, and say what the money will support. If the goal isn't final, leave it off rather than print a number you may change.

Can I add a donation link to the flyer?

Yes. Enter the link to your group's existing donation or information page. This generator only makes promotional materials; it does not host campaigns or collect donations.

Can I add our school logo or sponsor logos?

You can add one school or group logo (PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG). It appears on all four materials and never leaves your device. Sponsor logos aren't supported; list sponsor names on the sign instead, once each sponsor has agreed to be recognized.
